ASophia Asia Systems and PHILIPS Singapore kicks off
Proof of Concept MES implementation.
ASophia
Asia Systems Pte Ltd
(ASophia) and PHILIPS Singapore Pte Ltd (PHILIPS)
today kicked off a proof
of concept (POC) implementation of ASophia’s Manufacturing
Execution System (MES) solution on the Steam Promoter line
at PHILIPS Domestic Appliance and Personal Care (DAP)
manufacturing facility in Singapore. The POC implementation
is aimed at demonstrating the power of the ASophia MES
solution in enhancing the visibility of manufacturing
operations to the management and the capability of the
solution in acquiring the vital pieces of information
required from production processes in real-time and
presenting it in a consistent and easy-to-understand manner,
for maximizing the capabilities of the production process
and increasing productivity.
The system
is required to monitor, record and report Key Performance
Indices (KPI) of the Steam Promoter line and individual
modules within the line. The implementation will cover
factory floor dispatching, resource tracking, QC data
collection, analysis and reporting functionality. It will
track and report on key manufacturing performance Indices (KPI)
including Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), and Mean
Time To Repair (MTTR), production output, Performance Ratio,
machine downtimes, machine stoppages, cycle time, changeover
time, scraps, process yields etc.
Based on the
results of this POC implementation, PHILIPS will decide on
the roll-out of the system to the rest of the production
lines in Singapore and their sister plant in Batam,
Indonesia. ASophia and PHILIPS are confident that the
implementation of the ASophia MES solution will bring
substantial benefits to PHILIPS's production operations.
